Whilst we face many pressures to move all
our garment manufacturing offshore in pursuit of cheaper manufacturing and
labor we continue to manufacture the majority of our clothing in Australia.We believe the advantage to you, our
customers, is significant.
Manufacturing in Australia means we can maintain the
quality of the fabrics used. We can control the inputs into each garment like
the zips and elastics and the correct threads for stretch garments. We can take
considerable care in ensuring your garments are constructed in a careful and
highly skilled manner. We think there is a tremendous advantage in being able
to look over the shoulder of a machinist and provide immediate feedback to
ensure each garment is the best it can be.By keeping much of our manufacturing in house we are able to achieve
this goal.
In saying this, we do manufacture some
items overseas, mainly in Fiji,
to make the price of some items in the market place cost effective, viable and
competitive. Why Fiji?We prefer Fiji because it is relatively easy
to ship our own fabrics, threads, elastics, etc directly to them and have a
much great control of the garment outcomes. The result is that our Fiji made
garments fit into and match other garments in the range perfectly.
Our overseas manufacturing amounts to only a
small percentage of the total manufacturing by ROCKWEAR…. And we are proud to
keep what manufacturing we can in Australia.
